16chan got lucky IMO, It was shortly after 8 was shut down, 4cuck started to really go to shit (as in shittier than it was before) Then the weekend of the Pewds vs ADL event, BO (and a few other BO's from loose nit group of boards) came up with a Top Kek larp of a fake DM between PDP and ADL. They posted a thread it on 4cuck that went viral that night(possibly other sites, I witness the thread and posts on 4cuck myself) and every one that saw it followed link here to see if it was legit. Anyone, with half a clue, knew it was larp, but a really good one IMO
>In short 16chan got very lucky launching during multiple converging happenings.
I dont have then numbers myself but I suspect that that first week and a half the site gain a lot of loyal posters and lurkers.
For the next week or two BO had a very small, very slow, comfy board and put a lot of time in, tweaking bugs, and responding directly to Anons questions and suggestions. You could probably find a lot of BO replies in threads that managed to make reply count limits to be auto-archived. I think most of us started to feel like we knew BO, about as well as you can ever know, an online friend.
To my knowledge BO never again Advertised or Shilled 16chan himself nor did he ever suggest to Anons here. Many Anons did however start threads with discussions on how to do this ourselves. Most Anons, rightly so perhaps, opposed the idea. They feared advertising 16 would only lead to getting on the radar of shills and shitposters from 4cuck and the like, they were right of course. I'v recently seen the board slow down a little but seems new anons like your self keep showing up quite regularly. I assume anons still quietly pass the info around but in a more discrete one on one way, perhaps some of those Anons actually go outside sometimes and have frens IRL
While your here, why not tell us how you found us?
